One year Wedding Anniversary

Did you know that paper symbolises the 1st year of marriage?  I've only had a few requests on this celebration, but they are always unique and wonderful.  You can see my first commission for one year anniversary here. And now, I can share the second with you as well!

I met Emma at the Little Fox Market in Rickmansworth last month, we had a quick chat on the day and she followed up with an email with some more details.  She had a tight deadline - anniversary coming up quickly! And through the details she shared with me I designed a floral wreath, featuring the flowers and plants from their wedding and honeymoon.  Emma let me know what text she wanted, and after a rough draft was agreed on I got painting and popped it in the post for a speedy delivery (thank you Mr Postman!).

Due to the tight deadline we kept it small, and it's really super sweet, perfect.  I can work to bigger sizes if small isn't your thing, and the text can be anything you'd like.  If you're interested in seeing these in my shop as a personalisable illustration, then leave a comment please.

The Little Fox Market - August

It's always a pleasure doing this lovely local market -The Little Fox Market has friendly customers and the other stall holders are of brilliant standards and create a great atmosphere.  I've done a few of this monthly market over the last year, so it's nice to see familiar faces but also to meet new ones!

It's all the details that count - beautiful bunting and cute price stands!

As well as fabulous stalls full of art and crafty goodness this months market was packed with scrummy food as well!  We treated ourselves to some Ethiopian curry with couscous and flatbread - with a sprinkling of salad too!  There was also some delicious smelling chicken curry, and to top it off tea, coffee and an array of cakes (I went for the gluten free coconut sponge with vanilla frosting...highly recommended!)

The Little Fox Market - take 3

I got back from my travels and the next weekend I was setting up in Rickmansworth for the Little Fox Market - straight back into it!  I'd been printing like crazy to get a good range of sizes and colours for my new babygrows - and they looked cute on the little hangers.

It's always nice to get everything out and have it all on display together, this market being no different and I even brought the big Amsterdam print with me too.  I love being able to have a chat with people selling as well as buying - theres always a nice atmosphere at this market!

A new neighbour! Jane from 'The Little Lemon Bakery' was next to me this week - delicious fudge and chocolate pretzels - highly recommended!

And this was pretty much my view for the day...not too bad ay?

The Little Fox Market in Rickmansworth

Back for my second time this year - The Little Fox Market in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, happens on the first Saturday of every month from 10.30 - 3.30.

I had meant to get more photos of everyone's stalls from the day but got chatting rather than photo taking!  There is always a lovely variety of stalls and this month was no different.  A few familiar faces from the last time I did this market and a few new ones too!

I'm really pleased with how my work went down at the market - new pieces and old alike!  I'm hoping that by October (the next market) I'll have more pocket mirrors, cushions and tea towels.

I invested in a new table cloth - definitely brightened up my stall!

Local markets

At home in Amersham I'm slowly getting used to having my work out and about in shops and cafes I know and love.  Recently, my work has travelled a bit further, see this post here, and for a while now have been here and here.  but I am still getting used to meeting local people who recognise my work and connect the dots when they realise it's me that's done something!

Apart from Christmas fairs at local schools I haven't been very aware about art markets going on in my area.  I hear about big ones happening in London, Bristol and further afield, but really need to get local and figure it all out!  Last year I managed to get involved with the Berkhamsted Arts and Crafts Market that happens on the first saturday of every month and the third Sunday (coinciding with the local farmers market), and am meaning to book up a few more dates for later in the year.

A friend of mine has been talking about the Little Fox Market since she moved to Rickmansworth and finally in March, I made it to the first market of the year!  A little nippy out, but lots of lovely tables full of a variety of goods.  I got in touch and was there the first weekend in May (4th) and it was lovely!

A few photos from the day!  I met some lovely people - namely Caroline of 'Handmade Soap by Caroline' who was next to me with her gorgeous soaps (and matching gazebo), the day flew by chatting about various crafty things.
